Hello!

I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah

I am a tenure-track assistant professor, which means I have the privilege of both teaching and conducting marketing research at the University of Utah!

I teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, where the focus is on real-world application. My classes focus primarily on skill development with an emphasis on hands-on learning. I was recognized at the business-school level as the recipient of the Marvin J. Ashton Memorial Endowed Award for Outstanding Teaching in my first year at the University of Utah (2025).

My research is broadly concerned with how everyday people like you and me think (and feel) about their finances. I want to better understand the conditions (and reasons explaining) when people make good, bad, and head-scratching financial decisions. I consider myself a behavioral scientist, which means I tend to construct and test theories about consumer behavior based on how people actually behave. My PhD is from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I was recognized at the business-school level as the co-recipient of the Xavier Drèze Award for the best PhD student research paper (2024).

Prior to pursuing my PhD, I started, owned, and operated various small businesses ranging from e-commerce to food service to farming. I draw inspiration from these experiences in both my teaching and research.
